The Game Commission is responsible for the scientific management of all wild birds and mammals in the Commonwealth according to the Game and Wildlife Code. The Game Commission is responsible for enforcing the Commonwealth's game laws relating to the management, protection and preservation of game, birds, and fur-bearing animals. The Commission regulates the hunting and trapping of game, sets bag limits, operates game farms and employs game protectors.
The publications of the Game Commission contain annual reports, educational guides, maps, strategic plans, survey reports, and other reports. Selected topics from these publications include annual wildlife concerns, wildlife protections, wildlife diversity, wildlife action plans, state game lands, and the Pennsylvania Game News. The bulk of the current material is dated from 1929 to present.
