Human Relations Commission State Documents
The Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission enforces the civil rights laws of the Commonwealth by administering the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act and the Pennsylvania Fair Educational Opportunities Act. The Commission’s goal is to eliminate unlawful discrimination in employment, housing, commercial real estate, public accommodations, and education. The Commission conducts two principal programs: a compliance program in which discrimination cases are investigated and resolved, and an educational outreach program. The Commission also works with a network of public and private agencies to address community tensions that may arise following hate crimes or other public expressions of bias.
The publications of the Human Relations Commission contain annual reports, other reports, and educational guides. Selected topics from these publications include yearly agency happenings, agency history, and sex as a protected class. The bulk of the current material is dated from 2011 to present.
