Patient Safety Authority State Documents
The Patient Safety Authority is an independent state agency that analyzes the data collected in PA-PSRS (Pennsylvania Patient Safety Reporting System) to identify trends and recommend changes in healthcare practices and procedures that may be instituted to reduce the number and severity of future serious events and incidents. Reportable incidents include healthcare-associated infections, abortions, or any other serious medical event from institutions like hospitals, birthing centers, surgical facilities, and nursing homes.
The publications of the Patient Safety Authority contain annual reports and strategic plans. Selected topics from these publications include patient safety, statistics, and yearly agency happenings. The bulk of the current material is dated from 2002 to 2015.
